Minnesota Teachers of English Conference
West Des Moines, IA - June 7, 2004 -- UPDATE! Minnesota has been one of our most responsive states since the "Star Tribune" published Jane Burns' review on May 26, 2003. So it was great fun to see old friends and make new ones at the Minnesota Council of Teachers of English, April 23/24, 2004 in Brainerd. Gretchen and Charles presented a break-out presentation early in the day and found a full house waiting to greet them! With a "Disgrace" exhibit as an easy meeting place, others who were not able to attend (with four concurrent sessions vying for attention) were able to catch up, get books signed, and verify that life at school is still as exasperating and, at times, as entertaining as captured in "Disgrace." Thank you for saying hello and encouraging us on. We appreciate it.
